Project summary: The challenge in FISH-IMPACT is to complement existing product & process evaluation methods with sustainability and health related indicators to be applied in fishery and aquaculture productions as way to ases & communicate the economic, environmental & social performance of Adriatic-Ionian SMEs, considering the impacts arising in products lifecycle.

Outputs – 1) supporting awareness raising on ESG principles and health and nutritional value of aquatic products in Adriatic-Ionian region by gathering relevant state of the art knowledge, 2) transnational pilot action to collect end users feedback on tools developed to improve fishery and aquaculture SMEs competitiveness, 3) toolkit for SMEs to facilitate the introduction of nutritional and sustainability requirements in fishery and aquaculture sectors, 4) strategy to improve Adriatic-Ionian citizens sustainable choices about fish and shellfish consumption

Results – Strengthen the exchange between research and business communities as well as technology transfer and capacity building within and across countries. Project partners signed Memorandum of Understanding on cross-border cooperation on issues related to the sustainable production and consumption of aquaculture and fisheries products. Faciliate the introduction of nutritional and sustainability requirements in fishery and aquaculture sectors thanks to the toolkit for SMEs.
