On April 8, 2024, in Zadar, the 1st scientific expert meeting on mariculture in the Adriatic Sea – Adriatic Mariculture was held.

The meeting was organized by the Department of Ecology, Agronomy and Aquaculture of the University of Zadar in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture.

The goal of the 1st scientific-professional meeting with international participation dedicated to mariculture in the Adriatic Sea, organized by the Department of Ecology, Agronomy and Aquaculture of the University of Zadar and the Ministry of Agriculture, is to enable the exchange of knowledge and connections between scientists, experts, producers, state and local administration bodies and non-governmental organizations operating in the field of mariculture and related scientific fields . Through the conference program, we want to emphasize the importance of an interdisciplinary approach and the inclusion of all stakeholders in order for the development of mariculture in the Adriatic to be successful and sustainable in the long term. Furthermore, we would like to commemorate four decades of marine fish farming in the Republic of Croatia. Parallel to the conference program, the Tuna, Sushi & Wine Festival Zadar will be held at the same location.
